USPS raises Forever stamp prices, releases Barbie series

The U.S. Postal Service is raising the price of its Forever stamps, starting Sunday, July 12, and is revealing a series of new "Barbie" stamps featuring the famous doll in a variety of careers.

The price of the U.S. Postal Service's  Forever stamps is rising from 78 cents to 82 cents on Sunday, July 12. Overall, the Postal Service is raising mailing services product prices by about 4.8%, according to USPS. 

When Forever stamps were introduced in 2007, they cost 41 cents each. The price has been rising regularly with the Postal Service upping the price of the Forever stamp from 73 cents to 78 cents in July 2025.

With the latest increase, the price of Forever stamps has increased 100% in 19 years. Forever stamps were introduced to help consumers with future price changes. No matter when they were purchased or if prices go up, the stamps remain good for sending mail.

In addition to the price change, the Postal Service this week introduced 10 new Barbie stamps during the National Barbie Doll Collectors Convention in Austin, Texas.

“The original Barbie stamp has been one of our most memorable and beloved stamps, with appeal felt by Barbie fans young and old,” said Lisa Bobb-Semple, the Postal Service’s director of stamp services. “As much as our customers loved that stamp, we wanted to feature a selection of the modern careers depicted across the decades during which Barbie has become the best-selling doll of all time.”

The Barbie stamps are issued as Forever stamps and will always be equal in value to the current First-Class Mail 1-ounce price.
